American Korean Taekwondo Teaneck and American Korean Taekwondo Team Center Bergenfield are trusted, professional, and family-centered martial arts schools that have helped countless children grow into stronger, more confident, and respectful individuals.
Since opening our Teaneck location in 2016 and expanding to Bergenfield in 2025, we have been dedicated to providing a safe, structured, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.
Both schools are officially certified by Kukkiwon (South Korea) and USA Taekwondo, following internationally recognized teaching standards. We are proud to be known as the Home of National Champions in the sparring division, proving the high quality of our instruction.
At American Korean Taekwondo, our training focuses on far more than physical skills.
We help children develop:
These five core values are the foundation of our program. Parents consistently tell us that their children show noticeable improvements not only at the dojang, but also at home and school.
Many students who once struggled with focus become more attentive.
Shy children learn to speak with confidence.
Energetic children gain self-control.
Respect and discipline naturally become part of their daily behavior.
This is why so many families choose our program and why they stay.
Our instructors are dedicated, patient, and professionally trained.
Parents appreciate the way we guide children with structure, encouragement, and clear expectations. Students feel supported, motivated, and excited to learn.
Families often share with us:
“We can’t believe how much our child has changed.”
“This is exactly what our child needed.”
“We completely trust the instructors here.”
These real experiences from parents are the foundation of our strong reputation.
Both our Teaneck and Bergenfield locations operate with the same high standards:
We are committed to helping every child grow not just as a martial artist, but as a confident and strong individual ready to take on life’s challenges.
American Korean Taekwondo is more than a place to learn martial arts.
It is a place where students grow, transform, and become the best version of themselves. Parents trust us because they see real, meaningful change in their children.

Daria Kalyniuk is a WTF Kukkiwon–certified 4th Degree Black Belt and an ITF 1st Degree Black Belt with over ten years of continuous training in Taekwondo. After relocating to the United States, she continued advancing her skills and expanding her professional qualifications as both an instructor and a coach.
Daria has been teaching Taekwondo for many years, working with students across all age groups and experience levels. She has participated in seminars and courses and got following qualifications:
Her combined background as an athlete, coach, and referee gives her a comprehensive understanding of training standards, competition rules, and performance expectations at both the national and international level.
As a competitor, Daria has participated in numerous tournaments and earned a national title at the Ukrainian Championships. Her competitive experience allows her to prepare students not only in technical skills but also in strategy, mindset, and discipline required for sparring and forms performance.
In the dojang, Daria is known for her structured and methodical teaching style. She teaches both sparring and forms, with additional focus on conditioning, discipline, and character development. Her instruction emphasizes clean technique, functional movement, and long-term improvement. She consistently sets high expectations for her students while maintaining a supportive and organized training environment.
Daria chose to pursue teaching because Taekwondo played a major role in shaping her own life. It helped her build confidence, discipline, and resilience, and she is committed to providing the same opportunities for her students. Her guiding principle is:
“My mission is to become stronger than yesterday and help others do the same.”
A fun fact about Daria: sometimes young students accidentally call her “sir”—and she doesn’t mind. To her, true respect in Taekwondo goes far deeper than titles, and what matters most is the dedication and spirit her students bring to the mat.
Through her commitment, experience, and passion for teaching, Daria continues to inspire students to train hard, stay disciplined, and discover the strength within themselves—one class at a time.
